KUCHING: Barisan Nasional (BN) Selangor information chief Isham Jalil feels it is not a good idea to accept Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) into BN.

He said it would not be a problem if PBM were sincere in supporting BN without any conditions.

“But, if they want to join to ask for seats, then the grassroots, including myself, cannot accept it, because they are ‘a party hopper and a former frog’,” he said in a Facebook post on Saturday (Jan 8).

Additionally, he said that BN was a close friend of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).

“If we accept this new party and their president Larry Sng wants to contest in the parliamentary seats in Sarawak under the BN ticket and flag, that will have a negative impact on the relationship between BN and our friend, GPS,” he said.

He went on to say that this was just his opinion and thanked PBM for supporting BN.

“I will leave it to the party’s leadership to make a wise decision,” said Isham.

Earlier, it was reported that Sng said the PBM’s 12 divisions have proposed a motion for the party to be a component party in BN and to face the 15th General Election (GE 15) together.
