KUALA LUMPUR: Former national footballer Serbegeth Singh or better known as Shebby Singh passed away at the age of 61 on Wednesday afternoon.
The matter was confirmed by the Astro Arena crew who informed that Shebby had fainted, believed to have been caused by shortness of breath while cycling in Kledang, Johor.
Shebby started his career on the football field as a defensive player for the Johor FA team before moving to the Kuala Lumpur football team in 1983.
He also played for the Negeri Sembilan FA and Pahang FA teams before ending his career with Perak FA in 1996.
Since retiring as a national player, he continued to serve as a coach and hosted sports shows in Asia.
Not only had he served in managing the national team, but the late was also the global advisor for the Blackburn Rovers in 2012. – Astro Awani
