TANJUNG MANIS: More than RM60,000 have been presented to eight primary and secondary schools in the Tanjung Manis Zone.
According to Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) in a news report on Saturday (Jan 15), Tanjung Manis MP Ir Yusuf Abdul Wahab had handed over the Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) Fund to the respective schools at the Kuala Rajang Service Centre here on Saturday (Jan 15).
Among the schools that have received the funds are Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Orang Kaya Muda Pakri Paloh, SK Abang Gesa Belawai, SK Abang Buyuk Jerijih, SK Abang Galau Rajang, SK Tanjung Manis, SK Bayang Sebayang, SK Stalun with a total amount of RM35,000 while Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Belawai received RM30,000.
The fund for all the PTAs is an annual contribution from the MP to enable the schools to carry out activities throughout the year as the school session has already begun.
Apart from that, he also presented a contribution of RM25,000 to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Tanjung Manis Sports and Welfare Committee and RM4,000 to the Rumah Wakaf Kaum Ibu Belawai.
In addition, Yusuf said that he would work with the schools in Tanjung Manis Parliamentary constituency, especially dilapidated schools and those that need special attention.
