SERIAN: The water levels at Kampung Krusen Siu, Kampung Hilir and Kampung Hulu here, are under control following monitoring by the Serian fire station on Sunday (Jan 16).
Sarawak Fire Department assistant director of Operations Henderi Ardimansyah when contacted confirmed that there were no reports of emergency related to flood received by the station.
“Fine weather and no rain at three locations monitored, were reported by the team.
“Monitoring at Kampung Krusen Siu Bridge found that the river water level is under control and safe,” he said, adding that it was located about 15km from the fire station.
In Kampung Hilir, the monitoring team found that a road heading into the village was still flooded with waters rising about half a foot.
Henderi pointed out that vehicles could still go through the road, which was still under control as the waters were expected to recede if there was no occurrence of rain.
He added that the water level in Kampung Hulu was under control as the waters were slowly receding despite still at a cautious level.
Both villages are located about 6km from Serian fire station.
