SIMANGGANG: The Chinese community here is advised to adhere to the standard operating procedure (SOP) set for the upcoming Chinese New Year celebration.

According to a report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Simanggang assemblyman Datuk Francis Harden Hollis said that although the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) had given some relaxations in restrictions, the people must still remain compliant with the SOP.

“On behalf of my family, I would like to wish a Happy Chinese New Year 2022, where this year is the Year of the Tiger.

“May this year bring more blessings and profits to the business community,” he said when visiting Chinese shops around Simanggang town and distributing Chinese New Year goodies on Wednesday (Jan 26).

Francis, who is also Assistant Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development, also expressed his appreciation to those who had placed their trust in him to be the elected representative for Simanggang.
