KUCHING: The Sarawak Government is confident it will be able to deliver the development objectives of the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 through its Action and Implementation Plan (AIP) for the PCDS 2030, which was launched on Monday (Feb 7).
Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said this was because the state had clear and measurable outcomes for the initiatives and action steps to achieve the goals laid out in the AIP.
“The AIP is an innovative way for the state to ensure all of our initiatives are aligned to PCDS 2030 aspirations.
“For that reason, I would like to thank the State Secretary Datuk Amar Jaul Samion who has been diligently leading the entire civil service to formulate a comprehensive AIP for PCDS 2030,” he said when officiating at the launch of the AIP at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) on Monday (Feb 7).
The chief minister added that he had also reorganised his Cabinet with the aim to focus on areas which mattered most in the PCDS 2030.
“The reorganisation will further strengthen our service delivery especially in this challenging time and in addressing the high expectations of the people.
“The AIP of the ministries, departments and agencies under them will give greater transparency and accountability, because what gets measured gets done according to specification, time and resources,” he said.
On PCDS 2030, he said all the initiatives planned were for the people, and it was one of the best ways to improve the socio-economic status of the people.
“We are accelerating our infrastructure development to improve the standard of living, grow our economy to provide business and job opportunities, and train our people to be resourceful and increase their income level.
“Under the 12th Malaysia Plan we have earmarked RM63 billion to implement these people-centric initiatives under PCDS 2030 Phase One. This amount is over and above the federal government allocation for federal projects in the State.
“Therefore, we need to have an efficient implementation plan so that we can deliver the projects based on the funding, time and specifications,” he said.
Project management, he said, should be holistic, taking into consideration all aspects of project implementation, stakeholders involved, resources as well as requirements of law and procedures.
