KUCHING: Sarawak’s Covid-19 cases continues to log in triple-digit figures, with 214 cases recorded on Friday (Feb 11), which is still better than Thursday’s number of 226.
This brings the total number of cases in the state to 253,840.
In its daily update, the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said only one patient — Category 5 — needed ventilator support.
Two patients, who have lung infection, are under Category 3.
There were a total of 146 cases under Category 1 (no symptoms) and 65 under Category 2 (mild symptoms).
“Kuching tops the list with 105 cases, followed by Miri with 42; Sibu (33); Bintulu (nine); Kapit (eight); Kanowit (four); two each in Song and Pusa; and one each in Kota Samarahan, Sarikei, Serian, Sri Aman, Julau, Tanjung Manis, Meradong, Subis and Asajaya.
“No new fatality was reported in the daily update,” SDMC said.
In addition, there were 97 new persons-under-surveillance and 317 of them are currently quarantined at designated hotels.
SDMC also stated that the total number of persons under surveillance that had been discharged was 166,050.
In terms of non-compliance to the standard operating procedures, police had issued a total of 11 compound notices to errant individuals in Kuching (10) and Sibu (one).
Six of them failed to scan the MySejahtera before entering a premises and the remaining failed to wear face masks in public.
With that, this brings the total number of compounds issued by Sarawak police to 13,233.
