KUCHING: Sarawak’s COVID-19 cases have increased by 78 after logging in 284 cases on Tuesday (Feb 15) compared to Monday’s 206 cases.
This brings the total number of cases in the state to 254,717.
In its daily update, the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said only one patient with lung infection is categorised under Category 3.
Whereas, a total of 150 cases are categorized under Category 1 (no symptoms) and 133 under Category 2 (mild symptoms).
“Kuching tops the list with 92 cases, followed by Miri with 77; Sibu (58); Kapit (13); seven each in Bintulu and Kanowit; six each in Kota Samarahan and Serian; Limbang (five); three each in Limbang and Sarikei; two each in Sri Aman and Telang Usan; and one each in Mukah, Bau and Saratok.
“No new fatality was reported in the daily update,” SDMC said.
In addition, there were 89 new persons-under-surveillance and 334 of them are currently quarantined at designated hotels.
SDMC also stated that the total number of persons under surveillance that had been discharged was 166,275.
In terms of non-compliance to the standard operating procedures, Kuching police had issued a total of nine compound notices to errant individuals for failing to scan the MySejahtera before entering a premises (seven) and failing to wear face masks in public (two).
With that, this brings the total number of compounds issued by Sarawak police to 13,277.
