BAU: Police here have confirmed that the two suspicious luggage left in the open in town here last Saturday (Feb 12), had no objects that can cause harm to the public.
On the day of the incident, a police team was deployed to the scene to conduct an inspection after receiving a public complaint around 9am.
Bau OCPD DSP Poge Nyaon in a statement, disclosed that there were no objects inside that may pose a dangerous threat to public safety.
“The luggage was supposed to be disposed of as it was seen placed near a garbage disposal, according to witnesses.
“However, there were no testimony from witnesses as to who had placed the luggage out in the open space in front of a bank,” he said, adding that the police expressed their gratitude to the witnesses for their cooperation.
He assured the public not to worry about it and do not to make any unfounded speculations regarding the incident.
According to sources, the pink luggage was empty and the black luggage was filled with used pillows, old school bags and blank papers.
