MIRI: Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has been tested positive for COVID-19.
Women, Childhood and Community Well-being Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah confirmed this during her welcoming address at the official launch of Sarawak Women’s Day Celebration 2022 here.
“We have been informed by the Premier of Sarawak at 9pm last night that he would be unable to join us for today’s event because he was confirmed positive for COVID-19,” she said today at Pullman Hotel Miri.
Last week, Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian was also tested positive for COVID-19 after taking a PCR test ahead of an official overseas trip has recovered.
He completed his seven days home surveillance order on Sunday (March 6) and his rapid antigen self-test on the same day was negative.
