KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg visited the Talang Satang National Park (TSNP) with his close family members and friends yesterday.
According to Sarawak Forest Corporation (SFC), the private visit was part of Abang Johari’s weekend outing and concurrently to observe the turtle’s hatchery at the national park.
During the visit, SFC Chief Executive Officer Zolkipli Mohamad Aton received a RM10,000 cheque from Rimbun Prima’s managing director Bouteflika Ahmad.
“The cheque is to aid the Turtle Conservation Fund,” said the corporation.
TSNP is the state’s first marine protected area and covers four islands, namely, Pulau Talang-Talang Besar, Pulau Talang-Talang Kecil, Pulau Satang Besar and Pulau Satang Kecil as well as its surrounding coral reefs.
Also present were SFC Deputy Chief Executive Officer II Abang Arabi Abang Aimran, Director of Sarawak Museum Department and Executive Officer for Turtle Management Board Tazudin Mohtar and Lundu’s District Officer Gustian Durani.
