Kuching OCPD ACP Ahsmon Bajah said the fugitives were 36 men and two women — all locals — and an Indonesian woman aged between 24 and 60.

“Of the 39, eight were involved in serious crimes that carry prison sentences of 10 years and above.

“Eleven individuals were involved in numerous property crimes and the remaining 20 were involved in various criminal activities,” he told the media at Kuching District Police Headquarters here today.

“Other persons of interest include two men aged 41 and 60, who are wanted in connection with a murder that took place in Batu Kawa in 2011.

“The case is currently being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.”

ACP Ahsmon said police had carried out a series of operations to track down these fugitives but to no avail.
