KUCHING: Two working papers proposed by the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK) for implementation this year have been approved through the Mesyuarat Tindakan Membanteras Dadah (MTMD) Bil 1 of 2022.

According to Sarawak Public Communications Unit, Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg when chairing the meeting on Tuesday (April 12) agreed to consider the ‘Program Membanteras Penyalahgunaan Dadah dan Substans di Tempat Kerja’ and ‘Program Kesedaran Awam AADK Bersama Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan (JPJ) Negeri Sarawak’ for the transport sector involving driving institutes.

AADK director-general Sutekno Ahmad Belon disclosed that the two papers under consideration would be implemented from May until the end of this year.

He added that such a programme was the first to be implemented in Malaysia and fully funded by the Sarawak government.

Also present were Minister for Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah and Minister for Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah.
