KUCHING: The public are invited to send their e-waste during the Electrical and Electronic Waste Collection campaign held at the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Community Hall from April 22 to 23.

Public can send their unwanted e-waste to the venue from 8 am to 5 pm in exchange for cash.

The campaign is co-organised by the Natural Resources Environmental Board (NREB), Department of Environment and MBKS.

Meanwhile, MBKS Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng, when receiving a courtesy call from NREB and DOE at his office yesterday, shared on  MBKS, NREB and DOE could work together in terms of raising public awareness on the importance of environmental management and protection.

“The agencies need to collaborate with each other to educate and enhance the culture of protecting the environment among the public,” he said.

Wee also said that he welcomed any ideas and suggestions by NRED and DOE on how the council could play its part in any environment issues.

During the courtesy visit, the delegation from NREB was led by its Controller Peggy Ronin Edin and DOE was led by its director Hamzah Mohamad.

They also shared their opinions and suggestions on how the council could come in to help and support both agencies.
