MIRI: The Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) Miri Region enforcement and protection team in collaboration with the Miri Divisional Marine Police recently seized several parts of wildlife including the fully protected species.
According to SFC in a statement today, the seizures took place during Operasi Patut at four different handicrafts premises around Miri.
“Among the items confiscated are more than 511 peacock parts, 148 bear claws, 17 deer antlers, 14 eagle claws as well as one deer skin handbag.
“All of them were taken to the SFC Miri Regional office for further action,” the statement added.
The corporation also reminded that selling and owning wildlife is an offence under the Wildlife Protection Ordinance 1998.
