KUCHING: Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sarawak on Friday distributed savoury porridge or bubur lambuk and dates to Muslims in the Padungan constituency.

Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii Lee Wuen disclosed that the distribution was conducted together with DAP Sarawak chairman Chong Chieng Jen.

“Besides that, we provided some Raya food aid to 12 families at a small Malay settlement at Jalan Ellis to give some festive cheer during this Raya celebration.

“We also reminded them to continue to follow all COVID-19 precautions even during this Raya celebration,” he said.

On a separate occasion, Dr Yii and Pending assemblywoman Violet Yong had visited several needy constituents, especially the elderly, people with disabilities (OKU), and those who are unwell.

“Many of them contacted us for help and shared the struggle with their daily expenses. They did not have proper incomes because they were unable to work.

“So, we allocated some contributions and food aid to help them through these tough times,” he added.
