MIRI: A host of events have been lined up for the Miri Division Gawai Dayak celebration which is being organised by the Miri Division Gawai Dayak working committee.
It will be hosted by Dayak Association Miri in collaboration with the Resident and District Offices and 11 other Dayak based associations here.
Organising Chairman, Wilfred Mac said the event will be held on May 21 at the Meritz Hotel Grand Ballroom.
Among other events held in conjunction with the celebration are Dayak Karaoke Contest on May 8 and May 14 (contact Dominica Tinggang 019 884 1949), Blood Donation at 9.30am at MRCS Jalan Bulan Sabit (contact Mathew Dominic Madai 0138377297) ,Education Award at 10am at Bintang Megamall and Semi Final Contest For Kumang /Dayung/Keligit and Keling Belawan will be held on May 15 at 2pm at Bintang Megamall.
Helen Sunta who is the Sub Com Organising Chairlady urged all single Dayak ladies and gentlemen aged 18 to 25 and 18 to 30 respectively to contact the Community Coordinators, namely, Kumang Iban Coordinator (Contact Helen Sunta 0198553484), Dayung Sangon (contact Caroline Siburat 0128518938), Keligit Orang Ulu (contact Lorreta Herbert Madang 0198360333) Keling Belawan (contact Romulus Charles Agan 0128713484 ) so that they can share the Google link.
Closing date will be May 6.
Six finalists of each category will bid for the Kumang /Dayung /Keligit and Keling Belawan titles on May 21 at the Miri Division Gawai Dinner Celebration.
