SIBU: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) is expected to field several new faces in the 15th general election (GE 15).
This follows reports that some of the party’s MPs have expressed that it was time for them to give way to new and younger faces.
“There are some who say that it is time for them to retire, so there are already signs that we can should someone else (candidate),” said Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
The Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) chairman and PBB president said this to reporters in a press conference after officiating at Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) 5th Triennial Delegates Conference (TDC) at Kingwood Hotel on Sunday (Apr 24).
PBB has 13 MPs – Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar (Santubong); Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof (Petra Jaya); Rubiah Wang (Kota Samarahan), Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri (Batang Sadong), Datuk Rohani Abdul Karim (Batang Lupar), Ahmad Johnie Zawawi (Igan), Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib (Mukah), Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi (Kapit), Lukanisman Awang Sauni (Sibuti), Datuk Robert Lawson Chuat (Betong), Yusuf Abdul Wahab (Tanjung Manis), Datuk Henry Sum Agong (Lawas) and Datuk Hasbi Habibollah (Limbang).
