KUCHING: Senior Minister of Works, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said giving alms should be a habit of the people even after the month of fasting.
The Petra Jaya Member of Parliament (MP) said this during the Jalinan Kasih Aidilfitri Programme at Semariang Service Centre.
He pointed out that such habit should be practised so that it would be part of the culture.
Fadillah also congratulated the effort made by The Pergerakan Wanita PBB Semariang in making the programme a success.
“Fasting is to remind ourselves of our current position, the struggles and hunger will remind us of those who are less fortunate.
“Such effort strengthens the affection among ourselves, regardless of our own siblings, neighbours and the community” he said.
In the same event, when asked by reporters on updates regarding the Nabawan students in Sabah who used a bamboo raft or zip line as a mode of transport to school, he answered, “It’s unsure if it falls under the state or federal’s jurisdiction, as of now there are no reports received yet regarding the issue.”
