KUCHING: Sarawak recorded 377 new Covid-19 cases during Epid (epidemiological) Week 19, which showed an increase from Epid Week 18 with 256 cases.
According to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee’s (SDMC) weekly report released on Monday (May 16), Kuching remained the state’s most affected district during Epid Weeks 18 and 19, with 52 cases in Week 18 and 117 cases in Week 19.
In Epid Week 19, Miri (59), Sibu (38), Bintulu (43), Serian (15), Sarikei (10) and Mukah (12) were among the six districts that saw double-digit cases.
The remaining districts with zero positive cases in Epid Week 19 were Lawas, Saratok, Asajaya, Matu, Pakan, Telang Usan, Belaga and Bukit Mabong.
Meanwhile, in Epid Week 18, there were two deaths recorded while no deaths were reported in Epid Week 19.
This takes the cumulative cases to 305,951 in Epid Week 19 from 305,574 in Epid Week 18.
