KUCHING: One of the four flyovers in the Kuching-Serian Road, namely the Mile 10 flyover, in now open to motorists.
Senior Works Minister, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said road users could now drive seamlessly along the roads within Kuching to Padawan and Siburan.
“I want to thank the road users who have been patient going through the road congestion during the construction of the flyover and today your patience has paid off with the completion of this project while the other remaining flyovers will soon be completed,” he said.
“The contractors and the Public Works Department (PWD) Sarawak have briefed me that the target is to at least open one lane before Gawai on the Mile 7 flyover and the other (Mile 6), God willing, will be completed by July.
“So, please be stay patient as the flyovers will be completed soon,” he said during the opening of the Mile 10 flyover at the Giant Mall parking space here, on Today.
Meanwhile, Fadillah said as the Pan Borneo Highway construction is still on going, the relevant implementing agencies must manage traffic flow properly to reduce difficulties faced by motorists.
“There are challenges when we do construction on live traffic which is not easy but we in the ministry together with the implementing agencies will try to minimise inconvenience to the people by providing and giving good services in term of signages and notices.
“And if you have complaints, you can always directly inform PWD and the ministry and we will try to address it,” he assured.
