MUKAH: In conjunction with the Gawai Festival on June 1, the Keluarga Malaysia Sales Programme (PJKM) was held at 101 Superman Speedmart Sdn Bhd here on May 25 and 26 from 10am to 2pm.
Among those who attended were Mukah MP Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib, Mukah Parliamentary Service Centre officer Almalhakim Norshidi and officers from the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) here.
Even though it was held for two days, the response was encouraging, with consumers asking for the PJKM to be organised regularly.
They acknowledged that the price of goods sold there were reasonable considering that prices have gone up everywhere.
Hanifah reminded traders to always abide by the rules and regulations set by the government when doing business.
“KPDNHEP enforcement officers will continue to carry out inspections to ensure that supply (of goods) is always stable to meet the needs of consumers.”
Mukah KPDNHEP—as the programme coordinator—has held eight PJKMs so far – five times in Mukah, twice in Igan and once in Tanjung Manis.
PJKM offers consumers a variety of daily necessities at 20 per cent lower than market price, including sugar, cooking oil, flour, chicken, eggs, rice and selected items.
