KUCHING: An online lecture on ‘Prefabricated construction technology towards the achievement of sustainable building construction’ was held by Politeknik Kuching Sarawak (PKS) and Guizhou Polytechnic of Construction (GZPC).
The programme was launched by PKS director Hikmatullah Hajid Ahmad Khan, and saw the participation from lecturers and more than 200 students from the Department of Civil Engineering via Zoom.
GZPC president Prof Wang Changhui, deputy president Prof Wang Huairong and over 500 GZPC students also attended the session from China via Zoom.
PKS, Politeknik Mukah Sarawak and Politeknik Sultan Idris Shah gave talks on Industrialised Building System (IBS), Modular IBS Construction in Malaysia, Construction Strategic Planning in Malaysia and Building Information Modeling (BIM).
GZPC presented talks on BIM Applications in Protecting Traditional Buildings for Ethnic Minorities in Guizhou, Introduction to Construction Industrial Development in China (Prefabricated Buildings), Prefabricated Component Production Flow and Quality Control and Simulation.
Following the session, the two parties held talks about research and development of revolutionary prefabricated technologies in the construction industry.
