BAU: Parents, family and society play an important role to combat drugs and substance abuse which are universal problems, said Datuk Henry Harry Jinep.

The Tasik Biru assemblyman said this when unveiling the One-Stop Committee to address Drug and Substance Issues (OSC MIDS) banners here on Friday (May 27).

“Bau is still very active (in drug and substance abuse cases).

“Thanks to the Bau District Office, community leaders, police and also the public, we have done so much on creating awareness on substance abuse, especially to the students, villagers and so on.

“But the most important are parents, the family institution,” he said.

According to Henry, placing banners in some strategic areas is a step to warn the public of the danger of substance and drug abuse.
