KUCHING: Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas has called on the Ministry of Infrastructure and Port Development to work cohesively to become a top class ministry.

He said the people in the ministry need to collaborate with one another by sharing each other’s  views with an open mind.

“You should not be afraid to sit down and share your views. This is because despite there being fewer questions posed regarding the ministry during the recent DUN (legislative assembly) sitting, there were still many issues that were raised which need to be addressed.

“That is why we have so much to do from now onwards to make sure that these expectations from the rakyat can be met,” he said.

He said this when attending the Ministry of Infrastructure and Port Development Hari Raya and Pre-Gawai Gathering at Pullman Hotel yesterday.

Uggah pointed out that aside from working together, the ministry staff also need to keep abreast with the advancement of technology.

“Technology is now being developed at lightning speed. We can see that at this point, technology is part of our life.

“That is why we need to focus on how to use technology to enable us to deliver top services so that we can be a top class ministry,” he stressed.
