KUCHING: Kidney patients in Bandar Kuching and Pending continue to receive financial assistance from MP Dr Kelvin Yii Lee Wuen and assemblywoman Violet Yong to undergo dialysis treatment.

Dr Yii said the monetary aid would help in their medical and daily expenses.

“We also had the opportunity to hear from them to better understand their struggles. Many of these dialysis patients are young and uncontrolled diabetes have forced them to go for dialysis treatment.

“This has affected their ability to work. In many cases, even damaged their eyesight. So, we hope what is contributed will help them through these tough times,” he said yesterday (June 9).

Meanwhile, Dr Yii paid visited an elderly uncle to better understand his situation and find ways to better help him.

“The uncle lives in a rented place and used to survive on collecting recycled items, especially electronic products.

“However, due to the movement control order (MCO) he told us that it has been really difficult for him.

“He now does a bit of gardening and selling some of his plants to earn a little money to buy food,” he said.
