KUCHING: About 40 senior officers of the state Forest Department will participate in the four-day 19th Malaysian Forestry Conference (19th MFC) beginning on Sunday (June 12 to 15) in Kuantan.

The Sarawak delegation led by Forest Department director Datuk Hamden Mohammad is scheduled to present a plenary working paper, achievements of the 18th MFC resolution, six oral working papers, 10 posters and five notification papers on the department’s achievements in forest management since the last 18th MFC was held in 2018 in Kuching.

Divided into six sub-themes, the conference themed ‘Adapting Forestry to New Reality’, will be officiated by Pahang Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.

The conference serves as a platform for forestry officers and staff to share their experiences and direction on forest management and care.
