TANJONG MANIS: Kampung Rajang here has great potential to be a fishing port as well as an attraction for locals and tourists, says Yusuf Abdul Wahab.
According to a Sarawak Public Communications Unit report, the Tanjong Manis MP stressed that the areas near the artificial reefs in Rajang and Belawai waters were a great spot for anglers.
“With fine weather, a clean environment as well as good facilities and the variety of fish in the waters, it will be the main factor for anglers to come here.”
In this regard, he reminded anglers to conserve the environment and keep the river clean.
He said this during the prize-giving ceremony of the 3rd Rajang Coastal Challenge Fishing Competition organised by the SK Abang Galau Alumni Association last Sunday (June 12).
A total of 212 anglers took part in the competition that was divided into two categories – the Jetty Category and the Boat Category. Each category had 96 and 116 participants respectively
