KUCHING: Three senior citizens have received aid in the form of food and material donations from charity organisation Hope Place.

Suffering from several illnesses like diabetes, high blood pressure and asthma, Pael Aming, 61, lives alone in Sungai Tapang, Kota Sentosa, Mile 7 here.

She used to work in a coffee shop but her bad knees forced her to stop last year. Pael said she used to walk from her house to her workplace daily but had to stop as the condition of her knees worsened. Hope Place is assisting also Pael with her social welfare aid application.

Hope Place also paid a visit to 89-year-old Chin Sze Yoong, who stays in Sungai Maong with her two adult children.

The NGO learned that Chin’s son has a mental disability, and that everyday, she walks to the adjacent coffee shop to buy food for herself and her two boys.

Chin’s right leg is bloated and has discolouration. Hope Place is aiding the family with food and other home essentials.
