SINGAPORE: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, who is leading a study visit here, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at his office in Orchard Road.
The courtesy call yesterday is part of the Premier’s itinerary to gain insights into the operations and management of Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund and to further promote economic cooperation between the island republic and Sarawak.
The two leaders held discussions on subjects of mutual interests to both Sarawak and Singapore as well as current issues affecting the region and world.
Earlier, the Premier and members of his delegation paid similar call on Lawrence Wong, who is the Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister of Singapore.
This was followed by a call on Teo Chee Hean, who is the Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security.
The delegation visited Temasek Holdings Private Ltd where they were briefed on the operations and management of the Singapore government’s domestic investment.
Accompanying the Premier were deputy premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian and High Commissioner of Malaysia to Singapore, Datuk Dr Azfar Mohamad Mustafar.
