KUCHING: An eight-day Borneo Illustration and Creative (BIC) Festival will be held to provide a breath of fresh air to the creative industry after a two-year lull owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Nia, speaking to the media at Pustaka Negeri Sarawak

Themed ‘Sarawak Day, This Place We Call Home’, it will host free of charge interactive walk-in activities for visitors of all ages.

The event this weekend will feature activities such as “Tree of Life” Painting Activity, Illustration Corner, Batik Painting to DIY Flower Sewing conducted by a team from the State Library and many more.

Throughout the eight-day event, there will be creative ethical market sales.

The creative ethical markets will feature local ingredients, 3R “second-chance” items and sustainable handmade products by the local artisan community.

Borneo Illustration and Creative (BIC) Festival aims to scout and serve as a platform for hidden talents and create a community of like minded people.

It will be held at the State Library from July 23 to 30.
