KOTA SAMARAHAN: The people of Sarawak, especially the youth, can take advantage of the sports carnival as a platform to unearth and hone their talents in sports.
This was said by Kota Samarahan Member of Parliament Datuk Rubiah Wang who called on the youth to take this opportunity to empower themselves to a higher level.
“The organisation of this kind of carnival is able to train the youth’s skills in whatever sports activities they engage in and bring them to the high-level arena in the future,” he said.
She said this through a statement on her social media after officiating at the Young Scientists Programme and Kampung Nakong Sports Carnival 2022 in Kampung Nakong here.
In the meantime, she welcomed the holding of social activities in the form of community services because it was able to restore the atmosphere of cooperation and re-strengthen the friendship between the people involved.
At the same time, Rubiah urged community leaders to always play their respective roles in bridging the gap between leaders and local people.
Also present at the event were Nakong village chief Saini Mail, Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) branch chief of Kampung Nakong Kadir Umar and PBB Kampung Nakong Women chief Latipah Abdul Jalil.
