SIBU: The Pelawan branch of Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) is stepping up its mobile service for the people to air their grouses.
Mobile service leader Ling Hua Wee said his side would provide the service thrice weekly in the morning on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.
“We will chose coffeeshop as it is easier for the public,” he told reporters when conducting the mobile service at the Dewan Suarah market food court here yesterday (Aug 1).
He was accompanied by Kapitan So Teck Kee, Kapitan Thomas Tiang Nie Ping, Kapitan Low Muong Ing and Kapitan Nee Nga Leh.
Ling, who is also the publicity secretary of the Pelawan branch, said they would be available in public places more often to help and resolve the people’s problems.
“We will be together with local community leaders, especially the kapitans, who can play their part.
“Before we carry out our mobile service, we will announce the venue in our Facebook and relay the message to our party members so that we can move around,” he said.
He said from past feedback, most of the issues presented by the people were mainly on blocked drains and potholes, overgrown weeds, grass-cutting service and complaints by motorists about traffic views, blocked by plants or trees planted along roadsides.
