SIBU: Two women were fined RM1,000 each in default one month’s imprisonment here today (Aug 8) for committing affray.
Magistrate Mohd Syukri Mokhtar handed them the penalty after they pleaded no contest to a joint charge.
Wong Mee Ling, 33, from Bukit Lan and Tong Chu Ping, 64, of Jalan Bandong stood charged with fighting in front of a hotel in Jalan Market on July 20 at about 8am on July 17.
Tong and Wong who is a taxi driver had fought over passengers, hitting each other with a stick and causing head injuries.
They paid their fines.
