MIRI: Another unidentified metal object was discovered near the Tuai Rumah Ngadan Muyang longhouse in Sungai Kurong, Suai, about 89km from the city.
The metal fragment weighing 16kg and resembling a deer’s antlers was found by one Amba Chungki, 67, at her orchard.
It comes nearly a week after a similar metal fragment weighing 27kg was discovered at Taman Goodwill in Sepupok, Niah,
Both are believe to be debris from China’s Long March 5B rocket which made a fiery re-entry into the earth’s atmosphere recently.
“I was spraying pesticides in my orchard when I spotted a suspicious item, half-buried on the ground,” said Amba on Today(Aug 9).
“I immediately alerted the Tuai Rumah Ngadan Muyang (longhouse chief).”
On Tuesday (Aug 9), a team from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) together with the Malaysian Space Agency (MYSA), assisted by Batu Niah firemen and the police were seen at the site to retrieve the object.
Zone 6 Miri Fire and Rescue department acting chief Ahmad Nizam Sapaiee, the operation to retrieve of the object took about seven minutes.
