KUCHING: Sunway Fertility Centre offers financial assistance for In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) through the Employees Provident Fund (EPF).
Locals who opt for the IVF package provided by the Sunway Fertility Centre at Canaan Square, Jalan Stuttong Baru amounting to RM15,999 may apply for the financial assistance using the EPF, account two.
Minister of Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said that the IVF is not cheap and it would need some savings for couples who want to conceive.
“Currently, there is no critical demand for further financial assistance except the assistance provided by the EPF.
“We are glad that there are facilities and services that could help the public,” she said during a visit to the centre.
Dr Edawati Dahrawi Edrus, consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist (O&G), fertility specialist at the Sunway Fertility Centre reiterated that since 2020, if patients have EPF account, they may purchase the package using their EPF account 2.
During the visit, Fatimah was given a tour of the facilities provided by Sunway Fertility Centre and Sunway TCM Centre.
A presentation was given by embryologist Pearl Liew and TCM Centre manager Hu Kee Yie, who specialises in acupuncture, rehabilitation and infertility.
Also present during the visit were Sunway College director Joseph Lim Jit Sek and consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist Dr Mardiana Kipli
