Mind briefing programme attracts 200 participants

SIBU: Two hundred participants turned up at the ‘mind briefing’ organised by the State Information Department at Sibu Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (SCCCI) premises here, yesterday. Speaking at the event’s closing ceremony Sibu Resident Hii Chang Kee said the briefing aimed to give the opportunity to the related government departments and agencies to explain about current issues in an area.

“This mind briefing programme is an appropriate channel for the related government departments and agencies in Sibu to disseminate information directly to the local community besides giving an opportunity for them to go to the ground. “People here get a chance to hear answers to their problems to the related parties or authorities directly with a bilateral basis communication method and face to face,” he said.

According to Hii, the mind briefing programme reflected the proactive attitude of the government departments and agencies, particularly forefront department like State Information Department. Besides that, Hii said the government also launched a ‘Transformasi Nasional50’ programme or better known as TN50.

“This youth-friendly programme will provide opportunities to youth across the country including in Sarawak to jointly spur the vision and mission of the country within three decades to come,” he said. Thus, he called on the people, particularly the youth to jointly support and ensure the success of the TN50 programme which will benefit all. Deputy Di rector of Stat e Information Department, Ali Suhaili was among those present at the event.
