KUCHING: Civil servants under the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development (MYSED) are advised to remain creative and to constantly seek out fresh ideas for providing better services.
Its minister Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah Karim, in giving the advice, said the MYSED’s Innovative and Creative Circle (ICC) Mini Convention is the driving force behind efforts to foster a culture of innovation especially among the citizens of the ministry.
“This effort will be able to increase work productivity, further increase the quality based delivery system,” he pointed out in his speech at the MYSED’s ICC Mini Convention 2022 Award held at Penview Convention Centre last night.
The two-day convention, which was held from Aug 10 to 11, sought to improve the performance of employees of the Sarawak state public service (PANS) and maintain an innovative culture.
It also sought to promote innovation and creativity in the workplace so that staff members could carry out the work process more successfully and generate fresh ideas.
Among the other objectives are to address employee problems or to restructure existing work processes, while also to increase MYSED’s productivity and effectiveness in providing services besides enhancing public welfare.
“It is also to inspire and develop original and creative suggestions for the ongoing enhancement of service delivery,” he said.
Over the course of the two-day convention, which was attended by 110 participants and 15 groups from MYSED’s 24 branches throughout Sarawak, participants presented their projects. MYSED Pro Max from the Kuching headquarters took first place.
