KUCHING: More development is in the pipeline for Damai and one of them will be a wellness centre.
Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said the plan was part of the state’s commitment to improve the people’s wellness.
“I just came back from Budapest, Hungary, and I went to a wellness centre which is owned by a doctor.
“And this wellness centre has a special machine to produce oxygen. From the medical point of view, the oxygen produced will sort of reinstate your energy and can fight diseases, including cancer.
“I understand there is one in The Starhill, Kuala Lumpur. And will have this wellness centre also in Damai,” he said at the Association of Hotels (MAH) dinner here Monday night.
Abang Johari also said other projects have been planned for Damai.
“The private sector will construct two international hotels in Sematan.
“Hence, with this infrastructure, we can attract medical tourism, as well as prime tourists whom I have mentioned,” he said.
