SIBU: A 38-door Rh Jungan longhouse at Mile 36, Jalan Sibu-Selangau, was completely razed to the ground earlier today.
The unfortunate incident happened around 6.55am and firemen from Selangau and Sungai Merah stations were promptly despatched to the scene.
A spokesman from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the team are still carrying out extinguishing works to douse the flames.
As at press time, no details were disclosed on the number of the affected residents.
The cause of the fire and losses incurred is yet to be ascertained.
