MIRI: Some 250 Saremas Plantation workers in Suai, Niah near here and villagers in the surrounding area attended the Petronas Sabah Sarawak Gas Pipeline (SSGP) programme on fire safety held on Tuesday.

With the main objective of creating and raising public awareness on fire safety among the participants, the programme also included a briefing on how to make use of fire extinguishers to put out fires.

The participants were also given a talk on evacuation procedures and emergency plan.

Other activities were also held such as karaoke session, games, ‘Kumang and Keling’ contest for children and lucky draws.

Three officers from Miri Fire station, 11 members of SSPG operation team and three longhouse chiefs were also present at the programme.
