SERIAN: Go for health screening tests for early prevention of diseases and if you wish to live a healthy life, says Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn.
The Tarat assemblyman wants his constituents to stay healthy through regular medical check-ups as diseases can affect everyone regardless ages.
A free health screening tour programme is being organised by Sihat Sarawakku in collaboration with the state government and Seberkas to ensure Sarawakians take care of their health.
“This is an outreach programme conducted by several private medical clinics and pharmacies with the help of the Ministry of Health to check the health of the villages here.
“I am thankful to Sihat Sarawakku for organising this kind of programme here at Kampung Gayu.
“There are 11 other locations where the programme will continue within a period of two weeks,” he told reporters at the Kampung Gayu multipurpose hall, yesterday.
Sagah, who is also Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development, said the health screening programme will create awareness among villagers in Tarat on the importance of health.
“This way people will be aware of the importance of regular health screening tests to prevent from becoming ill.
“If diseases can be detected early, it is good which means it is not too late for a cure,” said Sagah.
Sihat Sarawakku programme organising chairwoman Daniella Lupi Bala said the programme has been going on throughout the state, including Kuching, Samarahan, Julau, Selangau, Tamin and Bintulu.
Besides that, she said yesterday’s tour has happened here in Tebedu and at the same time during the Benak Festival in Sri Aman and in Rumah Endawie in Bintulu.
At the function, Sagah also allocated Minor Rural Project (MRP) funds to 45 associations, organisations, village committees and houses of worship for their programmes, activities, and maintenance and restoration of buildings
“I hope they use this money well. At the same time, they need to show how they spend the money for the purpose of accountability,” said Sagah.
