KUCHING: Four occupants safely escaped from their homes in Taman Malihah, Petra Jaya after it caught fire.

An emergency call was received by the State Fire and Rescue Operation Centre (Bomba) at 12.23pm today regarding the fire incident.

Firefighters from Petra Jaya Bomba station were despatched to the incident location, together with firefighter from Batu Lintang station for support.

“The operations commander said there were two terrace houses that were caught on fire.

“The first house was reported to have completely destroyed and then the fire spread onto the next house, which only sustained 10 per cent damages,” it added.

All four occupants safely escaped the fire and there were no injuries or casualties reported during the incident.

Firefighters commenced the extinguishing operations and were able to control and stop the fire from spreading.

Once the fire has been put out, an assessment of the situation and the damages were conducted. The operations ended at 3.21pm.
