KUCHING: The Gifted Art Exhibition by special children in conjunction with Merdeka Plaza’s Mid-Autumn Festival celebration received heartwarming support from the public.
The Lions Clubs Kuching One Earth, together with Kuching Association of Talent Development and Welfare of Special Needs (KATSN), Divine Will Society and Merdeka Plaza today put on record their appreciation for the support.
The organising spokesperson said the Gifted Art Exhibition featured the works of 15 children of various special needs, but all with the incredible ability to draw and paint to create beautiful works of art.
“The exhibition, gathered much support that will help boost the self-esteem and promote the self-reliance of these special children.
“We would like to also announce the results of the Mid-Autumn colouring contest for the school children and the Lantern Making Competition,” she said.
The colouring contest for Group A (7-9 yrs old) was won by Aisyah Afiqah Abdul Aziz, Jarrel Chong Yan En and Chong Swee Hii respectively.
Consolation prizes went to Amber Luk Ka Yii ,Vannie Chai and Nur Alyaa Sofea Ahmad Safrie.
In Group B (10-12 yrs old) the top three spots went to Jayden Chong Yan En, Mandy Ko Wen Li and Fong Xin Yuan.
The consolation prizes were won by Chen Ru Yi, Ng Yi Xuan and Chong Qiao Xuan.
In the Lantern Making Competition the three top placed winners were
Yap Hock Hong, Liew Thai Chong and Bong Jig Khiong.
The consolation prizes went to Chai Chok Kha, Hong Yii Hung, Ho Wee Ching, Nyam Kee Guan and Nyam Bao Jia .
