SIBU: Three people were killed while another was seriously injured in an accident involving two motorcycles at Batu 12 Jalan Julau-Bintangor, last night.

The Sarawak Fire Operations Centre (PGO) in a statement today said that they received a distress call at 10.24 pm yesterday and deployed a team of members from the Bintangor Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) to the scene.

“The Operation Commander made a size up at the scene and found four victims, three (man) of whom were unconscious and were confirmed dead by the medical team,” they said.

The deceased have been identified as Mather Many Jonathan, 25, and Nelson Chendang, 21 while the other victim is yet to be identified.

“Meanwhile, a seriously injured female victim (yet to be identified) was sent to Sibu Hospital by an ambulance from Kanowit Hospital,” said the statement.

After the police had finished gathering information at the scene of the incident, the remains of the three men involved were lifted into a police truck to be sent to the Sibu Hospital mortuary.

“Then, the fire team proceeded to clean the road of debris and oil spill to ensure the safety of other road users,” they said.
