KUCHING: Batong Sadong incumbent Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri is leaving it to the Premier if she should defend the seat in the coming 15th general election (GE15).

The Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister said if Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg wanted her to continue serving the constituents, then she would do so.

“I’ll just leave it to him,” she said.

On the date of the election, she predicted that it would be held sometime yearend.

“If you have been following the news recently, most of the ministers were actually divided (in their opinion) on when the election should be held.

“We did discuss recently with the Prime Minister on the most suitable time for the elections,” she told reporters during an interview with the press, here today.

Nancy, however, did not specify the dates that were discussed.

“If it’s held this year, we have to face the issue of major floods and the monsoon season.
