KUCHING: Sarawak recorded a total of 658 COVID-19 cases during the 38th epidemiology (epid) week, a slight decrease as compared to 683 cases during the 37 epid week.
Of the latest cases, 641 were in category one and two, while 17 cases were in categories three, four, and five.
Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in its weekly COVID-19 update also said two COVID-19 related deaths were recorded during the period – one each in Kuching and Sibu.
During the 38th epid week, Kuching recorded the highest number of cases at 228, followed by Sibu (119), Miri (81), Bintulu (57), Serian (29), Samarahan (18), Sarikei (18), Bau (15), Dalat (12), Mukah (11).
Meanwhile, nine cases were recorded in Sri Aman; eight cases in Lubok Antu; six cases each in Betong, Daro and Julau; five cases in Asajaya; four cases each in Pakan, Kanowit, Subis, and Saratok.
There were two cases each in Simunjan and Lundu while Limbang, Meradong, Tatau, Tanjung Manis, Matu, Kabong, Marudi, Beluru, Song, and Belaga recorded one case each.
