KUCHING: Remain united to ensure Sarawak remains a prosperous and progressive state.
Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang said that Sarawak is a state that is able to live together despite the existence of many races and religions.
“We have proven to the rest of the country and the world that unity in diversity is a key element in making sure Sarawak is a successful state,” he added.
He was speaking at the Deepavali Charity Event 2022 at the Indian Association Kuching hall on Saturday (October 15).

He added that in any circumstances, whether economically or politically, togetherness is an essential factor to Sarawakians living harmoniously and peacefully.
“The specialty in Malaysia and especially in Sarawak, Deepavali is celebrated in a joyous and ‘Keluarga Malaysia’ (Malaysian Family) spirit.
“The spirit is shown through its inclusiveness crossing racial, religious and cultural barriers, even though the Indian community is the minority group, the Indian Association Kuching (IAK) has done a tremendous job in education and their job careers,” he said.
