KUCHING: Warisan president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal is still undecided on which seat to contest in the forthcoming 15th General Election (GE15).
Bernama reported that the incumbent Semporna MP said there are several considerations to be made before deciding to defend the parliamentary seat that he has held since GE9 in 1995 when he was with UMNO, and GE14 in 2018 with Warisan.
“I’m not sure yet (defending Semporna), I haven’t made a decision. We will see when the time comes,” he told reporters while launching the Putatan Warisan GE15 machinery last night (Oct 16).
With a majority of 20,674 votes, Mohd Shafie successfully retained the Semporna parliamentary seat in GE14.
However, there have been rumours that he will challenge incumbent Datuk Mohamaddin Ketapi for the Lahad Datu seat in GE15 after Ketapi left Warisan in October 2021.
