KUCHING: Drone technology should be incorporated into the school co-curriculum to benefit the younger generations, said Tasik Biru State Assemblyman Dato Henry Harry Jinep.

He added that drone technology was quite new in the State and the learning course would be timely for the younger generations to learn more about the technology. He explained that it would take about seven weeks to fully understand drone technology and its operation which would benefit many.

“With the support from the State government, I believe that this course can be incorporated into the schools’ co-curriculum,” he said during the signing ceremony of Memorandum of Undertaking (MoU) and launching of Professional Drone Operators Course between Sumiran Eco Camp and UAS & Robotics Academy (M) Sdn Bhd at Sumiran Eco Camp at Jalan Rantau Panjang, Batu Kawa here yesterday.

Henry also noted that apart from education, drone technology could also be utilised for agricultural use.

“The technology can also be utilised in the agriculture sector, and the State Ministry of Modernisation of Agriculture, Native Land & Regional Development has embarked on utilising the drones in their operations,” he said.
